Abstract | A wide variety of research about comics has been proposed in the recent years. One of the main focuses of researchers in document image analysis is about comics content analysis and segmentation such as balloons, text or panels. Research about user interaction or content generation has also been proposed. However, as these parts have been covered by different research fields (document image analysis, multimedia, artificial intelligence, human computer interaction, etc.) with different sets of values. We propose in this paper an overview about the previous research about comics in computer science. We will state what have been done and which are the main outlooks of current research. |
